And this trend has expanded to the point that most of us can no longer get away with wearing anything that doesn’t have a tank top and a bra underneath it. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I’ve been in a situation where I had to walk around with such a cumbersome, un-sexy bathing suit.
Like all trends, this one is mostly a fluke. Until the early 90s it was common to wear bathing suits with just a tube top and a bra. Now it’s mostly taboo to do so. In an effort to get people to take up the trend again, the internet is full of people who have created a new sort of bathing suit and call it a “shortsuit.
You can definitely buy shorts here, but the current trend is to keep shorts in the hair for at least as long as you want.
The trend is actually very popular with male beach bums everywhere. A few years back, a British man spent about $500 on bathing suits that were designed specifically for the male body. One of his suits had an adjustable band and a removable strap so that it could be worn with different styles. He then created a clothing line called “Academy” and sold it for about $20 on craigslist.
The current trend is to keep clothes in the hair for as long as you want.
