The first time I saw a swimsuit with a face on it, it was an advertisement for a swimsuit company. For those who are unaware of the concept, there is an image on the front of the swimsuit which is an image of a face. It was quite clever, and I had a great time looking at the concept. For many, the idea of bathing suits with faces is quite unsettling.
This swimsuit idea is not only a very clever concept. It is actually quite practical for many. People who wear face- and body-con swimsuits are often very popular in the swimsuit world because they are very cool. On the other hand, people who swim in different styles are often frowned upon by the general public.
I’m going to go ahead and say that I think this swimsuit idea is quite clever and that it is very much on point. But I have to admit that this is pretty much the only swimsuit concept that could possibly get my attention. The rest of the concept is either awful, or very, very bad, or both. There are a few other good ideas, but none that are currently on my radar screen.
I’m not going to name names to this one, because I think it’s a bit of a joke. I think it’s a shame that an entire movement that is supposed to be all about empowering women, is trying desperately to turn any non-gender specific swimsuit into something that is specifically tailored for women. But I guess we’re just not seeing the whole thing yet.
The whole idea is very, very good, but you have to be ready to make a choice about which one to choose, and then you have to take it on a firm, steady basis.
